Refund Policy

Effective Date: 27 June 2026 | Last Updated: 27 June 2026

1. Overview

J-Uza is a curated green solutions marketplace owned and operated by App Town Technologies Ltd, a company incorporated in Kenya. We are committed to ensuring that every buyer has a transparent, fair, and trustworthy experience on our platform. This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through j-uza.com, including sustainability reports, green solution demos, and any future products or services listed on the platform.

Payments on J-Uza are processed by Paystack Payments Kenya Limited, licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya.

2. Product Categories and Refund Terms

J-Uza currently offers the following product types. Refund terms differ by category.

2.1 Sustainability Assessment Reports (Digital Products)

Sustainability reports are generated digitally upon purchase based on information provided by the buyer through our online assessment tool.

SituationRefund Available?
Report not delivered within 24 hours of paymentFull refund
Report delivered but contains a system error or is blankFull refund
Report delivered but buyer provided incorrect input dataNo refund — buyer is responsible for accuracy of inputs
Buyer changes their mind after receiving the reportNo refund — digital goods cannot be returned
Duplicate payment made in errorFull refund of duplicate charge

Important: Because sustainability reports are generated from buyer-provided data and delivered digitally, they are non-returnable once successfully delivered. We strongly recommend reviewing the sample report available on our website before purchasing.

2.2 Solution Demo Requests (Request a Demo)

Demo requests are a free service connecting buyers with verified green solution providers. No payment is required and no refund terms apply to this service.

2.3 Future Paid Services

As J-Uza grows to include additional paid services — including training courses through JUZA College of Business and Technology's Green Business Academy, premium listings, or consultations — specific refund terms for those services will be published here and will form part of this policy.

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, contact us within 7 calendar days of your purchase date.

Step 1: Email support@j-uza.com with the subject line: "Refund Request — [Your Order Reference]"

Step 2: Include the following information:

  • Full name used at checkout
  • Email address used at checkout
  • Order reference number (found in your payment confirmation)
  • Reason for refund request
  • Screenshot or description of any error experienced

Step 3: We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and aim to resolve all eligible refunds within 7 business days of acknowledgement.

4. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method used at checkout:

  • M-Pesa payments — refunded to the originating M-Pesa number within 3–5 business days
  • Card payments (Visa/Mastercard) — refunded to the originating card within 5–10 business days depending on your bank
  • Bank transfer payments — refunded to the originating bank account within 5–7 business days

Refund timelines are subject to processing by Paystack and your financial institution. J-Uza is not liable for delays caused by third-party payment processors or banks.

5. Non-Refundable Circumstances

The following are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances:

  • Digital reports successfully delivered and accessed by the buyer
  • Purchases where the buyer provided inaccurate or incomplete information in the assessment tool
  • Requests made more than 7 calendar days after the purchase date
  • Purchases made using promotional codes or discounted offers, unless the product was not delivered
  • Processing fees charged by Paystack are non-refundable in all cases

6. Disputes and Chargebacks

We encourage buyers to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with their bank or card provider. Most issues can be resolved faster through direct communication than through the formal dispute process.

If you initiate a chargeback without first contacting J-Uza, we reserve the right to provide Paystack and the relevant card network with all transaction records, delivery confirmation, and communication history to contest the dispute in accordance with our Paystack Merchant Services Agreement.

Repeated or fraudulent chargeback activity may result in the suspension of your access to J-Uza.

7. Errors on Our Part

If J-Uza makes an error — including delivering an incorrect report, a system failure, or a duplicate charge — we will resolve this promptly and at no cost to you. In such cases you do not need to request a refund; simply contact us and we will make it right immediately.

8. Consumer Rights

This policy does not limit any rights you may have under the Kenya Consumer Protection Act (No. 46 of 2012) or any other applicable consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction. Where applicable law provides stronger protections than this policy, those protections apply.

9. Policy Updates

J-Uza reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of j-uza.com after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
